2019 Christmas Tree Festival

This has been another great success with 26 beautifully decorated Christmas Trees, each tree supporting a charity. The Festival opened on Friday 6th December with a tremendous performance from Woodlands School Choir and on Saturday we had great performance from Farnborough Road Infant School Choir. We extend a great thank you to the school choirs and their teachers, all the helpers, market stall holders and all the people who came and supported this event.

Lunch Club

12 Noon Lunch club meets on the third Wednesday of the month for a three course meal or just a sandwich. No need to book except for the Christams special on the 18th of December 2019.
The lunch is always preceded by a short communion service in the small hall at 11:30 am.

Christmas Tree Festival And Market 2017

This year’s Christmas tree festival and market was held on the 1st  and 2nd of December. It was another great success and raised nearly £3000. There was superb entertainment provided by the choirs of Farnborough Road Infant and Junior schools.

Thank you for everyone who helped organize, set up and staff this event, and also for all the people who visited the event.

The trees sponsoring a total of 26 charities will be available to view and accept further donations during all church services in December.

Where has this year gone?

Sorry for not keeping the blog up to date.
We started this year with Jeremy becoming very ill, and he has only just now returned fit and well. Fortunately retired vicar, the Reverend Roy Doran, had recently joined our congregation and he was able to carry our church through this difficult time.
Nevertheless we manage to enjoy many social events and a spectacular performance from Southport Orchestra is pictured below.
Last Sunday we had our harvest festival service at which we were joined by our friends from Liverpool Road Methodist church; we hope we will have more joint services in the future.

We have now started our planning for the next Christmas Tree Festival which will be on December 1st and 2nd

Christmas Tree Festival And Market 2016

This year’s Christmas tree festival and market was held on the 2nd and 3rd of December. It was another great success with over 600 visitors. There was superb entertainment provided by the choirs of Farnborough Road Infant and Junior schools.

Thank you for everyone who helped organize, set up and staff this event, and also for all the people who visited the event.

However this years successful event was tinged with sadness with the death earlier this year of Geoffrey Ellis, who played a key role in organizing previous festivals and church events.

The trees sponsoring a total of 24 charities will be available to view during all church services until Sunday 1st January.

Neighbourhood Party at St John's

18th June Neighbourhood Party at St John's to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.

This was a great success and well attended. We all enjoyed our lunch boxes.

The entertainment provided by the Ukulele band and other supporting acts was first class and stalls and games were excellent.
