KJB, The Book that Changed the World

On the afternoon of Sunday 11th March about 40 people gathered in the hall to watch the docudrama KJB, The Book that Changed the World – a film that told the extraordinary story behind the most extraordinary of books – The King James Bible.

The acclaimed actor John Rhys-Davies (of Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones fame) dramatically led us back in time to discover this fascinating tale of saints and sinners, power and passion. The film showed how the greatest translation of the Bible emerged into a world and culture that would never be quite the same again. It was both fascinating and entertaining and we learned a good deal.
The film was followed by a chance to chat over soup and sandwiches.
Then about 30 people stayed on for the 4U2@6 service which was a celebration of The Book and went on to remind us of our significance in the world as “The salt of the earth” (Matthew 5 v 13).
NOTE: If you missed the film and are remotely interested in the history of Christianity and/or social history you may like to know that we have a few copies of the DVD left for sale (£10). They can be obtained via Christine.

Thanks are due to the 4U2 organising group who organised and financed this enjoyable evening. (All donations made on the day went to support our church.)
