Llandudno in June

The fifty intrepid parishioners who set off for Llandudno could not have chosen a better day. The sun shone on us throughout.

One or two had never been to this sunny seaside resort and were suitably impressed with the long promenade, the large pebbly beach, the pier and the impressive new shopping centres.

People were observed eating lunch in a variety of venues, not least where there was a warning that seagulls may join you for the main course!

The highlight was the ride on the rack and pinion railway up to the top of the Great Orme where we were afforded stupendous views of the Welsh Mountains and back across towards Liverpool Bay. One or two chose to walk down rather than ride and have not yet reported any leg problems!

The journey home was uneventful apart from the fact that the coach door would not open on our arrival back at St. John’s and we all had to leave by the emergency exit.

The second highlight of the day was the superb meal prepared and waiting for us in the hall. Joyce Hunt had been hard at work assisted by Jane Maguire and we heard that even the Vicar had had a hand in it!

Watch out for the details of next year’s ‘day trip’ and sign up early.

Thanks must go to Geoffrey for organising our splendid day out.
Delighted to hear that you plan on organising another day out Geoffrey!
